GDC PREAMBLE
The New Model Government Degree College (NMGDC), Pendlimarri is situated at Head quarter of Pendlimarri mandal of Kadapa District. The College offers Under Graduate Courses such as B.A., B.Com (G) and B.Sc (BZC & MPC). The College functions under the jurisdiction of Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa.
In the beginning its inception of College, Sri R.M.Dobriyal, IFS (FAC) the then Commissioner of Collegiate, Hyderabad under the combined state of Andhra Pradesh has sanctioned about 65 New Government Degree Colleges in the State during the academic year 2008-09 and 2009-10 along with 9 Teaching posts , in its Proceedings dated 13-06-2012.
At first, the newly sanctioned that the New Government Degree College, Kamalapuram of Kadapa District was one among 65 New Government Degree Colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Since then, the college was sanctioned at Kamalapuram where the college was not materialized that was not functioning due to unknown reasons.
Later, in course of time, in 2018 the then New Government Degree College, Kamalapuram was shifted to Pendlimarri Mandal Head quarter of Kadapa District through the Government of Andhra Pradesh have issued orders permitting the Commissioner of Collegiate Education,Vijayawada for shifting of the college in the name of New Model Government Degree College (NMGDC) in its G.O.Rt.No.59, dt: 03-04-2018.
In fact, since 2018, the New Model Government Degree College (NMGDC), Pendlimarri was started functioning in the premises of Government Junior College, Pendlimarri on temporary basis from the academic year 2018-19 onwards.
The college was sanctioned with grant of Rs.12.0 crores(Rupees twelve crores) on the basis of 80:20 ratio of Central and State Governments respectively. Accordingly, the New Model Government Degree College, Pendlimarri and its original new buildings started constructions in 2018 and now it is about going to complete along with girls Hostel.

As a matter of fact, the people of Pendlimarri is the most backward and having rural area region in Kadapa District of Rayalaseema Region where the people’s livelihood is Agricultural and related activities. Based on all these circumstances, the Government of Andhra Pradesh identified this area to establish and decided to shift the college from Kamalapuram to Pendlimarii both are under Kamalapuram assembly constituency.
